When his service in World War II was over, Eddie Odum got off a bus in Savannah with his uniform and his duffel bag and only his girlfriend waiting on him.

Sixty-five years later, with that girlfriend now his wife of 65 years, Odum will be riding in a Model A Ford on Saturday as the grand marshal in the Guyton Christmas Parade.

“It means a lot, and it really means a lot to his children,” said his wife Delma Odum . “He’s quite happy this is going to happen.”
