Vivian Lawson, coordinator at Effingham County High School, and Becky Truluck, coordinator at South Effingham High School, discussed the Effingham County school system's work-based learning program with the Effingham County Rotary Club.

In this program, students have the opportunity to learn on the job, earn high school credit and take classes that will enhance their work lives after graduation.  Employers benefit from having dedicated, young employees who want to train and work in that employer's industry. Many students stay on after graduation either part-time or while attending college or technical schools.
