Air Force Airman 1st Class Gordon S. Lunderman III graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Lunderman is the son of Gordon Lunderman Jr. of Rincon and grandson of William Simmons of Sackets Harbor, N.Y.

He is a 2011 graduate of South Effingham High School.

Lunderman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
