Olde Effingham Christmas will be held Dec. 13 in downtown Springfield, with shopping, music, arts and crafts and more.
Springfield merchants will have extended shopping hours, and discount coupons will be available at the Living History Site. Signups for $100 and Mars Theatre gift cards drawings will be held at participating businesses.
From noon-4 p.m., buildings at the Living History Site and museum will be adorned in period décor, and characters in historical garb will tell local narratives. There will be a bake sale at the Hut, along with local arts and crafts for sale. There also will be Christmas music performances, and kids can have their photos taken with Santa Claus for $5 at 204 Early St.
A sausage and grits supper will be served at Springfield City Hall from 5-7 p.m. for $5 per plate. Tickets can be pre-ordered at city hall. For ticket information, call 754-6666.
“A Magical Grassical Christmas,” featuring the DePue Brothers Band, will be held at the Mars Theatre at 7 p.m.
