Book lovers of Effingham County and surrounding areas had an opportunity to browse and choose from more than 1,000 books offered for sale at Effingham Community Orchestra’s book sale fundraiser April 12. Hardbacks were $1 and paperbacks were three for $1.

“What a deal,” said orchestra director Andrea Huff. “This was a really fun event for those who love books. There were books for adults, teens and children. There was fiction, non-fiction on many different subjects, nice special items and special-interest sets.”

Huff expressed thanks to all who helped make the book sale a success.

“Effingham Community Orchestra’s BRAVOS support team did a wonderful job preparing and presenting the book sale to the public,” Huff said. “I would like to thank those volunteers, everyone who donated books for the sale and everyone who shopped the sale. We greatly appreciate everyone who contributed to the success of this fundraising event.”

Those who missed the book sale will have another opportunity next month. The orchestra’s BRAVOS support team will present another book sale fundraiser immediately following the orchestra’s “Something New and Something Patriotic Too” concert, which will be May 4 at 3 p.m. at the Effingham County Recreation Department gymnasium in Springfield.
