Stefan earns Eagle Scout

Christopher A. Stefan earned Scouting’s highest rank, the Eagle Scout.

He also has to his credit 49 merit badges, a Good Turn for America award, 50- and 100-hour community service awards and a Messenger of Peace award. His Eagle Scout project consisted of the installation of almost 300 feet of fencing and gates at the Warnell Center.

Gail Westcot, speaking for the center, said they were extremely pleased to finally be able to close and gate the access road under the high voltage transmission lines off Highway 17. This should stop the illegal dumping that has taken place for many years along the right-of-way under the power lines.

With Wescot’s help and the Springfield United Methodist Church, Stefan was able to raise $1,355.42 for the cost of the materials. Adult and youth members of Troop 295 in Guyton worked a total of 137 man hours to complete this service project.

Stefan and his mother extend a special thanks to the Warnell Center, Springfield United Methodist Center and the Troop 295 adult and youth members.
