‘Boo in the Park’ to benefit Effingham 4-H

Effingham County 4-H is again sponsoring “Boo in the Park” on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 6-8 p.m. The movie will begin at 8 p.m.

The event, which will take place at 601 N. Laurel St., Springfield, will feature trick-or-treating, a photo booth, food and a showing of the movie Halloweentown in the park. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on to enjoy the movie!

Sponsorships for the event are also being sought. Sponsorships begin at $100 and include name and/or logo on event banners and social media depending on sponsorship level. Food donations are also being requested; in addition to hosting a trick-or-treat table. (Table hosts must decorate tables in a fall/Halloween theme and provide their own candy to give away.)

Entry fees for the event are $10 for adults and $6 for children age 4-17.

Guidelines for costumes:

For guests age 13 and under, costumes and some costume masks may be worn. Masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen.

For guests age 14 and over, all guests may dress as their favorite character.

·       Costumes must be family friendly, and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.

·       Costumes may not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could be mistaken for a weapon.

·       Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another guest.

·       Themed t-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, and hats are acceptable.

·       Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy (plastic) swords, tutus, headwear that does not cover the face.

·       Costume masks of any kind may not be worn.
