Medient Studios, Inc. has announced it has engaged Choate Construction Company as the construction manager for its studioplex project in Effingham County.

"We believe that Choate is the regional leader in terms of quality and reputation,” said Medient Studios CEO Jake Shapiro. “From the very beginning, we have been impressed with their professionalism and expertise. The combination of Choate Construction, Bill Foley Designs, and Hussey Gay Bell & DeYoung is our dream team, and we are very fortunate to have them working with us."

"When we were approached by the new management team, we were immediately impressed with the seriousness and conviction of Mr. Shapiro and his assembled team. This is an important project for the region, and we are excited to be a part of it," said Andrew Verenakis, senior pre-construction manager at Choate Construction Company.

The initial engagement is for the pre-construction and construction specifications for the first phase of the studioplex sound stages, offices, public areas, roads, and infrastructure.

Founded in 1989, Choate Construction Company employs more than 350 full-time professionals and is located in Pooler, approximately 12 miles from the studioplex site.
