Effingham Health System announces the addition of a Toshiba Vantage Titan MRI System. The new MRI will offer EHS patients the opportunity to experience more comfortable magnetic resonance imaging exams, and higher-quality results.

Additionally, Toshiba’s patented Pianissimo technology reduces acoustic noise by up to 90 percent, when compared to conventional MRI systems.

“The noise is usually a patient’s number-one complaint,” said Nancy Flemming, radiology director at Effingham Health System. “The Vantage Titan is the most quiet system available, and the large bore design makes it feel more open during the scanning process. These features alleviate patient concerns about claustrophobia and discomfort during an MRI scan, which allows us to get the best possible images. A patient can expect a great MRI experience, and the physician can expect to use some of the most advanced diagnostic applications available in the market today.

“Additionally, this new technology means that some studies will not even require contrast. This is important for patients and physicians concerned with dye-agent allergies.”

Dr. James Cornwell, chief of staff at EHS, has been looking forward to the new MRI launch.

“The quality of the imaging is second to none, and we are so pleased to have this diagnostic tool for our patients,” he said. “We really have the best equipment on the market, right here, close to home.”
