Mary Pizzino

Mary B. Pizzino has been named the chief information officer of the Effingham Health System.

Pizzino joined Effingham Health System in March 2006. She has continuously grown in information management by managing all things data throughout the organization. Pizzino manages the health information management, information systems and quality data departments for the hospital, nursing home and all physician practices.

Pizzino’s most recent accomplishments include oversight to transition the EHS emergency department staff and physicians to a fully-implemented electronic medical record. Her next big assignment is to transition the organization to the new ICD-10 coding system required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid in 2014.

“Mary has been a valuable asset in our organization. Her efforts and expertise have allowed us to reach heights not often attained by smaller hospitals,” said Norma Jean Morgan, CEO for Effingham Health System. “We know how fortunate we are to have such a quality executive at our facility.”
