A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning for the grand opening of Kippy's Korner on Highway 21, north of Rincon.

Effingham County commissioners honored local youth athletes Tuesday, recognizing the GRPA state champion softball team and state track meet finalists with a proclamation declaring Aug. 9 as “Effingham Champions Day.”
