LeafGuard Gutters announces the opening of its newest local franchise, located in Ridgeland, S.C., that will service the areas of Effingham, Chatham and Bryan counties. Rusty Payne, a 1993 graduate of Georgia Southern University, will serve as general manager.

LeafGuard is a seamless gutter manufacturer and supplier of home rain gutter systems. Englert, Inc. introduced LeafGuard, a patented one-piece leaf and debris shedding gutter system, in 1993 to an industry starved for a better solution to conventional rain gutter problems. The system is ideal for most homeowner and offers a lifetime guarantee.

LeafGuard franchisee, Jeff Bernard, opened his first Leafguard office in Columbia, S.C., in 1999. Since then he has expanded his operation to Charleston and now to Hilton Head/Savannah.

Bernard believes education is the key to his success, stating, “We’ve had two main goals since we opened; educate people on why they need gutters and give them an alternative to old conventional gutters that stay clogged. Clogged gutters don’t work and cleaning them out is dangerous. People need to understand how damaging water can be to a home. With LeafGuard you get a free flowing gutter system that will never clog, guaranteed.”
