The Microtel Inn and Suites of Rincon marks its second anniversary with an open house and a rededication.

For the open house, the public is invited to visit anytime from July 23-27. All visitors will receive a tour of the hotel, a gift certificate for a discounted room, a Microtel souvenir, a chance to win a free room and refreshments.

Visitors are also encouraged to bring a donation for SOS, the senior citizens feeding program of United Way. Canned good and monetary gifts will be collected by the hotel to help the needy of our county.

The rededication is scheduled for July 27 at 4 p.m. in the hotel lobby. This event will include a brief history of the hotel, vocal music, a presentation of items collected for SOS, a drawing for free rooms, a prayer of dedication, and refreshments. The community is invited to attend. Honored invitees are the owners of the hotel: Ernest Hutson, Butch Kieffer, Harvey Kieffer, Hilton Kight, Murray Kight, Wendel Wilson and Ellis Wood.
