SBDC seminar to show Location Isnt Everything

The Savannah Small Business Development Center, a public service and outreach unit of the University of Georgia, will present “Location Isn’t Everything” on April 28 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the SBDC, 111 E. Liberty St.

This class is designed for existing and new business owners who are looking for a physical location to lease or purchase. It will take an owner through the process, starting with identifying an ideal location to the actual signing of the lease or purchase agreement.

Topics will include: lease legalities, site selection, rent calculations, negotiations, additional costs that may be incurred, potential landlord contributions, and zoning. Resources for demographic research will be introduced and demonstrated as well as other local resources for business owners.

Among the features of the seminar are:

• Business approval process walk-through by Cristy Lawrence and Aislee Jackson with the city of Savannah

• Appropriate legal structures for business and lease legalities with attorney Daniel Crook of Hunter Maclean
