Southeastern Bank taps Murphy for executive position

DARIEN — The board of directors of Southeastern Bank is pleased to announce the election of Marie Wright Murphy to the position of vice president and market manager of the Richmond Hill office.

She joins Southeastern Bank with extensive experience in the financial industry.  

“Marie comes to Southeastern Bank with a strong banking background,” said President and CEO Cornelius P. Holland III. “Her knowledge and expertise in business banking will especially be an asset to our organization and customers.”

Raised in Springfield, Murphy attended Effingham County High School and Georgia Southern University. She is the daughter of the late Iseman Wright of Clyo, and Regina D. Nixon of Rincon. Murphy and her husband Michael are the parents of Wayne and Ashley.

Active in the community, Murphy currently serves as chairman of the Small Business Assistant Corp., and is a board director and past president of the Savannah East Rotary Club. She previously served as board director of First City Club.

Southeastern Bank operates 17 offices in Georgia and Florida with total assets of $414 million.
