State Labor Department to help AT&T recruit wire technicians

ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor will help AT&T recruit a number of wire technicians to install U-verse integrated digital TV, high-speed internet, and voice services.

The recruitment will be Friday from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center, 5520 White Bluff Rd.

No experience is necessary because the company will provide technical training. However, applicants must have a high school diploma or a general education diploma, a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Applicants are encouraged to apply online at http://connect.att.jobs/savannah/technician and take the technical mechanical field test study guide before attending the recruitment.

Salaries range from $354.50 to $664.50 a week. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, 401k retirement plans, and tuition reimbursements for higher education.

The company will conduct a drug-screening test and a background check on selected applicants.
