RINCON — Classic guitarist Jeff Bianchi is ready to strike a helpful chord.
The New York native is set to play at Guyton Christian Church on Monday at 7 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the concert will go to Family Promise of Effingham County, an organization that helps homeless and low-income families.
Bianchi has lived in Buford for the past 16 years. He moved to be with family members after he graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia. He was a performance major with an emphasis in classical guitar.
“I knew there would be a lot more opportunities down south for me versus where I grew up,” Bianchi said. “I didn’t want to go to New York City, so I took the plunge (and moved to Georgia) and I’ve been here ever since.”
Bianchi’s talent has kept him busy. He has toured throughout the Southeast, including Savannah and Tybee Island.
His Guyton performance will feature his normal classical repertoire, not religious tunes. The set will feature selections from the Baroque period and a few modern songs.
