A Brunswick man was arrested Thursday on charges he shared child pornography in Effingham County.
Ambrosio Jimenez-Hernandez was taken into custody after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted a search warrant at his home on Ellis Street in Brunswick. Investigators found “several images of child porn on his computer,” according to Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.
Jimenez-Hernandez’s computer IP address had been “flagged” by the ICAC Task Force for downloading child pornography and sharing it through IP addresses in Effingham County, Ehsanipoor said.
The investigation is ongoing to find the people in Effingham with whom Jimenez-Hernandez was sharing the child porn, according to the ECSO.
Jimenez-Hernandez was booked into Effingham County Jail on five counts of sexual exploitation of children. He remains in jail, without a bond set.
