Five people were arrested Wednesday afternoon during a drug operation in the Forrest Hills subdivision.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Suppression Unit has arrested Kasaundra Brown, 20, of Springfield, Willie Christopher Brown Jr., 19, of Springfield, and Aaron Hubbard, 20, of Rincon. All three have been charged with the sale of controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Willie Brown Sr., 45, of Guyton, has been charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

A 16-year-old juvenile was also taken into custody after resisting arrest. He also was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.

Over the past several weeks, agents have been purchasing narcotics from the three individuals with sales charges. Two vehicles, along with a substantial amount of crack cocaine, also were seized in the operation.

“Over the past several weeks, our drug suppression unit has been focusing on eradicating drugs out of neighborhoods and in areas were other crimes have been occurring,” said Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie.

Hubbard, Kasaundra Brown and Willie Christopher Brown Jr. all remain in the Effingham County Jail.
