The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Friday morning burglary that took place on Old River Road near the Chatham County line where a suspect was caught on video surveillance.
Shortly after 10 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on a report of a forced entry burglary. The burglar fled the residence as a work repairman pulled into the victim’s driveway, according to ECSO Detective David Ehsanipoor.
The video shows a white male suspect wearing a hooded jacket with a white shirt. The vehicle may be a Suzuki Esteem wagon, either silver or white in color.
The homeowner installed the video cameras after a previous burglary. The suspect in Friday’s attempt is not believed to have taken anything from the home before he fled the scene.
Anyone who has information on this burglary or who may be able to identify the suspect in the video is asked to contact the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office at 754-3449.
