ECSO nabs sex offender who failed to register again

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended a sex offender who had failed to re-register as a sex offender.

Deputies found Jason Lyle Brown, 28, of Rincon, sleeping in the garage of a Caribbean Village Drive home. A tip called into the ECSO led deputies to Brown's whereabouts.

Brown has been charged with violating the Georgia sex offender registry act. He is currently being held in the Effingham County Jail. 

Deputies have arrested Brown previously for failing to register with deputies.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
