Effingham County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a man for stabbing his neighbor yesterday evening following a verbal altercation.

Deputies responded to a residence off of Rincon Stillwell Road shortly after 7 p.m. where they located a victim with a stab wound to the ear.

Deputies arrested Carey Ramey, 25, of Springfield, who was charged with aggravated assault. Ramey also was found to have active warrants for his arrest out of Gwinnett County as well as Walton County.

Ramey was transported to the Effingham County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
