Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a methamphetamine lab after responding to a domestic dispute Saturday evening at a residence in the 900 block of Low Ground Road.

As deputies investigated the dispute between a husband and wife, they came across several items in and around the residence such as a pump style sprayer, batteries and a burn barrel, which are items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.

After further investigation by patrol deputies and drug investigators, a methamphetamine lab was found in a shed on the property.
Deputies arrested Ricky Luke, 55, of Guyton and charged him with manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, simple battery and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree.

Luke is currently being held in the Effingham County Jail.
