Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a large party in Clyo early Sunday morning after a fight broke out and shots were fired.
No one was shot and no serious injuries were reported in the fight, according to ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.
A crowd of 50-75 people was gathered for a party and “somebody started a fight and shots were fired,” Ehsanipoor said.
He did not know how the fight started. A gun and shell casings were recovered at the scene.
Several deputies responded around 2 a.m. Sunday to the 2000 block of Stillwell-Clyo Road and broke up the fight. They also stopped several vehicles that were leaving the scene, resulting in two arrests.
Terrence Lee Singleton-Smith, 20, was charged with possession of a firearm with altered serial numbers, and Davian Larea Bartley, 22, was charged with driving with a suspended license and having no proof of insurance.
