Three arrests, 62 meth labs

Three people are in custody following a search warrant which led investigators to 62 meth labs in Effingham County. 

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. investigators with the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Suppression Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Mclaws Road. Sixty-two “one pot” meth labs along with several other items used to manufacture methamphetamine was located inside and outside of the residence. 

Dean Collum, 50, of Guyton, William Collum, 54, of Guyton, and Karen Boutwell, 27, of Ellabell, were all arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, and manufacturing methamphetamine. 

Dean Collum is currently out on bond for manufacturing methamphetamine from a search warrant last year and has an extensive criminal history.  

All three are currently being held in the Effingham County Jail.
