Traffic stop leads to meth lab bust

Two people are facing several charges after a meth lab was found in southern Effingham County.

A joint operation by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and Savannah – Chatham Narcotics Team led deputies to the lab, at a residence in the 800 block of Dogwood Way.

James Moore Jr., 40, of Eden, and Victoria Wise, 26, of Eden, were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of tools during the commission of a crime, and unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine.

According to reports, investigators made contact with Moore and Wise following an investigative stop on I-16 in Chatham County. Agents located pseudoephedrine inside of the vehicle and later located the meth lab at their residence in Effingham County.

Moore and Wise were both being investigated by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Suppression Unit.

Wise is being held in the Chatham County Jail and Moore is being held in the Effingham County Jail. Additional arrests are expected.
