Two teens were arrested Saturday morning in connection with several vehicle break-ins and vandalisms in the Jamestown neighborhood in Effingham County, according to Effingham County Sheriff’s reports.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., deputies were called to the area after a resident saw two suspects break into his vehicle. The victim grabbed his shotgun and chased the two suspects into a wooded area next to the subdivision. Several Effingham Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene a short time later, setting up a perimeter, and began the search for the two suspects.

A 16-year-old suspect fled from deputies but was found lying down in the woods a short time later with several of the stolen items, according to ECSO reports. Deputies then located the second suspect, Timothy Reisner, 18, at his Jamestown Drive residence.

A total of eight vehicles were broken into and three additional vehicles were damaged by the two teens. Both Reisner and the 16-year-old have been charged with eight counts of entering and auto and three counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree.
