An Effingham County woman and her half-brother were arrested Tuesday on charges related to them having sex in a church parking lot in the man’s truck.

Christopher Buckner, 20, of Guyton and her half-brother Timothy Savoy, 25, of Jackson both were charged with incest and sodomy.

The siblings told investigators they had sex in Savoy’s Kenworth tractor trailer, which was parked at Countryside Baptist Church on Highway 30. The church is across the street from the South Effingham High/Middle campus.

“It’s kind of frowned upon when you have sex with your sister in a church parking lot across from a school in a big rig,” said Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.

The ECSO received a call around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday of a suspected prowler in the Hester Road/Highway 30 area. Deputies responded and saw Buckner and Savoy walking down the street.

Investigators questioned them and determined Savoy was walking Buckner to her house after they had sex in the church parking lot. The two watched the romantic drama “The Notebook” inside Savoy’s truck and then had sex three times, according to the ECSO.

“Apparently the movie put them in a frisky mood and one thing led to another,” Ehsanipoor said.

Buckner’s bond was set at $9,000 and she was released Thursday from Effingham County Jail, according to the jail’s records.

Savoy remained in jail as of press time with his bond at $13,400.
