DOT to place new pavement markers on stretch of I-16
Placeholder Image

A state Department of Transportation contractor will remove and replace reflective pavement markers (RPMs) on Interstate 16 from Candler County eastbound to Chatham County through Friday, weather permitting.

This is a slow-moving operation that requires rolling lane closures between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. The reflectivity of the RPMs enhances visibility for drivers at night and in inclement weather. Motorists are asked to use caution, reduce speed and remain alert to changing traffic conditions.

The work will begin at mile 94.5 in Candler County and extend to mile marker 152 in Chatham.
