Early voting extended to Sept. 15 in Rincon special election

Rincon City Manager Jonathan Lynn announced early voting in the special election had been extended through Friday, Sept. 15. Lynn made the announcement during the regular meeting of the city council on Sept. 11. Early ballots may be cast at City Hall, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. There is no Saturday voting this week.

Election Day to fill the vacant Rincon City Council seat is Tuesday, Sept. 19. On Election Day ballots may be cast at the City of Rincon’s, Vernon C. Hinely Community Center, 102 South Columbia Ave., from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

According to the city’s website, 27 residents have cast early ballots at City Hall through Sept. 9.

Kevin Exley and Eric Hills are vying for the seat left vacant after Damon Rahn resigned on June 2. Rahn’s term is through 2025.
