The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has launched a social media program. The social media plan includes a Facebook page and a Twitter account.

Through its social media, the ECSO wants to: improve law enforcement and community relationships; provide Effingham citizens with up-to-date information of noteworthy incidents that occur and continue the open relationship that the ECSO has with the community; receive feedback from the community regarding the Sheriff’s Office performance; and improve the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office reputation as an innovative organization that reaches out to all members of the community, including a growing number of citizens who communicate heavily through social media.

“We will continue to seek innovative ways to connect with our community, “said Sheriff  Jimmy McDuffie.

Press releases disseminated by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office will automatically be posted to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page, Twitter account, and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office home page.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office encourages members of the public and news media to follow the ECSO on Facebook and its new Twitter account, @ ecsosheriff, which was launched earlier this week.
