A house fire spread to three other buildings on Highway 17 outside of Guyton on Monday.

Effingham County Fire Chief Val Ashcraft said fire began at a home at 3631 Highway 17. Wind blew the fire to the back yard where two storage buildings were destroyed, and embers caught a portion of a mobile home on fire as well.

Ashcraft said it did not appear that there was anyone in the home at the time. The fire was reported by someone who drove by the home.
