Brunswick – Effingham County residents, Barry Flonnory and Herb Jones attended a full day of new board member orientation on Oct. 24 at the Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center in Brunswick.

Flonnory and Jones were both appointed to the CGRDC Board of Directors by the Effingham County Board of Commissioners in March as representatives of the private sector.

Flonnory, who lives in Rincon, is employed with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation as the group lead for NetJets Support Technical Operations in Savannah.   

Jones, also of Rincon, served as a member of the state House of Representatives.

The orientation introduced new board members to the mission and operations of the regional development center.

Department heads from finance, aging services, planning and government services, coordinated transportation and administration introduced their staff and presented an overview of how each department operates in providing services to local governments.
