The Georgia Salzburger Society will welcome hundreds of spectators to the Heritage Day Festival at New Ebenezer on Sept. 2. The annual Labor Day event exposes men, women and children to what life was like for Georgia Salzburgers nearly 300 years ago. T

The festival will feature exhibits and demonstrations of basketry, crochet, old-style clay oven bread making , preserves, jams, jelly, honey, pickles, lemonade served from a traditional wooden barrel and more.

A Salzburger traditional worship service will occur at 11 a.m. and it will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Armin Seidlecki of Emory University. He will describe religious pietism among Salzburgers and Methodists.
