IDA: Effingham economy in better shape than others

The recession put a dent in Effingham County’s economy, Effingham Industrial Development Authority CEO John Henry told IDA members, but the county wasn’t as badly battered as some of its neighbors.

Henry presented an economic analysis to the board members, showing in detail how the county’s workforce has been impacted and how the county’s tax digest has changed.

“We’re not in this boat alone,” Henry said. “It has truly been a nationwide recession.”
