On Saturday, the Georgia Salzburger Society will conduct its annual Landing Day Meeting at New Ebenezer.

All descendants of the Salzburger community and friends are invited to Jerusalem Lutheran Church to mark the 285th anniversary of the landing of the first transport of Salzburgers in Georgia.  The Salzburgers were a group of Protestant refugees who helped settle the colony of Georgia.

Landing Day will start at 11: 30 a.m. with a “Greet and Reminisce” session and a meal of Good Rice Soup will be served in the Old Parsonage at noon.

The meeting will begin at  2 p.m. and historian Norman Turner will lead a Bethany Cemetery tour at 3 p.m.
