Georgia Hunting Fishing Federation holds monthly meeting
The Georgia Hunting Fishing Federation (GHFF) meets the second Thursday of every month at the Effingham County Recreation Department, 808 GA-Hwy 119, Springfield.
Their next meeting is July 13 at 7 p.m. Annual dues are $25.00.
The GHFF mission statement is, “To preserve the heritage and tradition of hunting and fishing in Georgia through community involvement and public awareness. To work with legislators and DNR to ensure laws and regulations protect the interest of all outdoor sportsmen.”

Local students graduate from Connections Academy
Six local students earned their high school diplomas from Georgia Connections Academy. The ceremony was held June 2 at Gas South Arena in Duluth.
Included in the 494-member class are: Elaina Hart, Elizabeth McMillen, and Izioni Kemit of Guyton; Dylan Aguirre and Cadence Coan of Rincon; and Aspen Armstrong of Springfield.
