Parent University-Effingham to celebrate fifth graduation

Parent University-Effingham's fall session will be held Sept. 23.

Parent University-Effingham will celebrate its fifth graduation during this session. All previous graduates will be honored as well.

Graduation and informational sessions will be held at Effingham County Middle School. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the general session and graduation promptly starting at 9 a.m.

All sessions will conclude by 1:30 pm.

Breakfast and lunch will be served. Door prizes for adults and children will be drawn as well.

Rincon City Council Approves First Pay Raise in 14 Years

Rincon City Council voted unanimously Monday to approve its first pay raise in 14 years, increasing council members’ pay to $750 per month and the mayor’s pay to $950 per month starting next year. The raises will apply to those elected in November, when three council seats and the mayor’s office will be on the ballot.
