Special to the Herald
As the vibrant city of Port Wentworth gears up for the annual Savannah St. Patrick's Day celebrations, the Port Wentworth Police Department is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of our community and visitors. Thousands of people are expected to join the festivities, and the police department is committed to creating a secure environment for everyone to enjoy.
Beginning on March 15 and continuing through March 17, the Port Wentworth Police Department will conduct a series of Road Checks throughout the city. These checks are designed to promote responsible behavior, deter impaired driving, and enhance overall public safety during the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
The Port Wentworth Police Department urges all attendees to plan ahead and make responsible choices. If you choose to consume alcoholic beverages during the festivities, please arrange for a designated driver, utilize rideshare services, or take advantage of public transportation options. The goal is to create an atmosphere of celebration while minimizing the risk of accidents or incidents related to impaired driving.
