Tomorrow is Earth Day and in celebration of that, RepowerIT is giving the residents of Effingham County a chance to do their part.

Don’t trash your old, unwanted electronics when you can recycle them!

RepowerIT is hosting an electronics recycling collection event in partnership with the city of Guyton tomorrow and is urging the community to participate.

RepowerIT is collecting and disposing of unwanted electronics. Also, the Guyton Fire Department will be supervising the collection of electronic scrap at Guyton’s Sale on the Trail event tomorrow from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

There is no charge to drop off your unwanted electronics. All unwanted electronic/computer material, with the exception of CRT (old box-style) TVs and CRT monitors, is accepted.

Other items like glass, cardboard and garbage is also not accepted – items must be electronic in nature (such as computers, phones, VCR/DVD players, etc), whether they work or not.

Anyone is welcome to drop off their electronic scrap as this is not restricted to just Guyton residents.

Guyton’s Sale on the Trail event, which will have a variety of merchants in attendance, is located by the old rail car across from Guyton City Hall.

A clearly marked bin will be present with a member of the fire department overseeing for collection of electronic scrap.

After Guyton’s sale on the trail ends, the Guyton Fire Department will continue to collect electronic scrap which will then by processed by RepowerIT.

People can continue to bring their unwanted electronics to the Guyton Fire Department at 306 6th Ave, Guyton GA 31312 from Sunday through Saturday, April 29, between 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Do not leave items outside – make sure you give your items to a member of the fire department so they can place it in the designated bin.
