Rincon Police Chief Jonathon Murrell said Tuesday night at the Rincon City Council meeting that the department has made a second arrest in connection with the May 31 shooting in Rincon.

He declined to give any more details only to say the investigation is ongoing.

Murrell also said the department’s newest K-9 Officer, Demon, assisted the Effingham County Sheriff Department in a narcotics alert on a vehicle. Demon help deputies locate one ounce of meth and some marijuana.

The Herald has reached out to the Effingham County Sheriff Department for more information.

Demon successfully completed a 2.9-mile track of a suspect in another case.

“He’s already making great strides,” Chief Murrell said about Demon.
