An Effingham County teenager who was seriously hurt in a Sunday morning wreck that claimed the life of one of the vehicle's passengers died in a Savannah hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities confirmed that William Neil Morgan, 17, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident that killed Whitney Newman.

The Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the accident.

A candlelight vigil for Morgan is scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Effingham County High School gym.
