EFFINGHAM COUNTY -- Once again this year, sex offenders will have to report to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office for Halloween.

Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie announced Oct. 24 that all sex offenders who are currently being supervised by probation or parole will have to report to the Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, October 31 from 6-9 p.m.

Throughout the Halloween weekend, deputies will be out patrolling neighborhoods and ahead of trick-or-treat time, will be double-checking on each of Effingham County sex offender’s home address.

The ECSO has previously stated that children may trick-or-treat in Effingham County on Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m.
