A fire at the DRT plant in Springfield reported Tuesday afternoon March 18 was quickly contained and extinguished, according to a statement by DRT and confirmed by Effingham County Fire Rescue on its Facebook page.

“A small fire broke out Tuesday evening in surplus materials stored at the DRT Springfield site. The fire was quickly put out, no one was injured, and our manufacturing process was not affected,” the statement from DRT said. “We’re grateful to Effingham County Fire and Rescue and all emergency personnel for their swift response.”
