Supply drive on for forest firefighters
Placeholder Image

After much demand, the Adventure Radio Group, along with WSAV, will again be holding a drive for the firefighters in Ware County.

The community is encouraged to come out Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to the Savannah Mall parking lot near Dillard’s.

The following items are needed:

Bandanas/Do-rags
Boxers and briefs (M, L, XL, XXL)
Tube socks
Deodorant (travel size)
Foot/boot liners
Lip balm in tube (Not Chap Stick – Carmex)
Moleskin (for blisters)
Insect repellent
Vitamins
Beef Jerky/Slim Jims
Beanie weenies or other snacks
Tuna snack packs or other snacks
Large glow sticks
Cleaning supplies and bleach
Oral-B Brush Ups, Listerine mouth spray (helps keep throat moistened)
Bounce dryer sheets (used as insect repellent)
Kool-Aid Sticks

United Rentals has donated a delivery truck and driver and will take all items collected directly to the firefighters for distribution.

There are approximately 880 firefighter and forestry men on the ground; if they all drank one bottle of water at once, they would use two whole pallets.
