Woman's body recovered after I-95 bridge jump

The body of a woman who, according to a witness jumped from the bridge on I-95 into the Savannah River, was recovered and identified Thursday evening.

Her name hasn't been released and foul play isn't suspected.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Officem Chatham County Marine Patrol, Georgia DNR, South Carolina DNR, the Rincon Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the scene. The Coast Guard used a boat and helicopter in the search.

The Savannah Fire Departmment, Effingham Emergency Management Agency, Port Wentworth Police Department, Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety, Jasper County Sheriff's Office and dive teams from Wayne County and South Carolina also assisted in the search..
