City extends thanks for parade

Dear Editor:

The 2012 City of Guyton Christmas Festival and Parade, which was held Dec. 1, was a spectacular event. The day was filled with great weather, numerous art and craft vendors, spectacular parade entries, and the best-yet spectators. Once again the Leisure Service Commission worked tirelessly organizing the event, and the Effingham County JROTC did a great job assisting with the parade line-up. The Guyton Volunteer Fire Department and the Guyton Police Department worked to insure the safety of all.

Thanks to the vendors who displayed their many creative art and craft talents. A great big thanks to those who created floats, which were amazing, for everyone to enjoy. Thanks to all who came out and enjoyed the beautiful weather, festival and parade.

Special thanks to our 2012 grand marshal, former Councilman Jeffrey Lariscy, our float judges and the dignitaries who took the time to join in our parade.

Thanks to anyone else that we may have left out who may have assisted with the festival and parade. This event would be impossible without the assistance of everyone. We look forward to beginning organization of the 2013 Christmas Parade and Festival to make it the biggest and best yet!
