Dickens Festival to be great addition

Dear Editor,

We are excited about the Christmas Parade and the Dickens Craft Festival to be held in Rincon.

It will be a team effort. The Lions Club will be in charge of the Christmas parade as usual. We are hoping for a huge turnout this year. Danny Fries with the noon Lions Club is challenging all civic and church groups to really get in the parade this year.

Start designing those Christmas floats now. Information and applications for the parade can be found at www.effga.com/christmasparade. Fries can be reached at 663-2412 if you have questions about the parade. We really want to celebrate Christmas in a big way this year.

The Dickens Craft Festival will take place on the parking lot at FBC Rincon during the parade and after the parade. Artisans are encouraged to reserve their spaces early. Applications can be picked up at FBC Rincon in the church office. A $20 fee for your space will go to international mission work.

Awards will be given to the best craft vendors on the site. We are looking for handmade furniture, pottery, photography, wreaths, Christmas cards, jams and jellies, quilts and the list goes on. Non-profit groups can reserve a space to sell food items etc. An application can be picked up in the church office. All craftsmen and food vendors must turn in an application for acceptance into the event. No garage sale type items will be permitted.

If you have questions about the craft festival call Dr. Bill Gammon at 826-5536.

Looking forward to a great Christmas celebration in Rincon.

Dr. Bill Gammon
