The Georgia Southern University softball team evened its record at 2-2 with a sweep of Mercer on Sunday.

The Lady Eagles won the opener 5-3. Marie Fogle, an Effingham County High alum, got the start in centerfield, going 0-for-1. GSU took the nightcap 9-5.

Fogle made her first start in Georgia Southern’s 2009 opener Friday, a 6-0 loss to Troy. Fogle went 0-for-2 and made two putouts. She went 0-for-3 in a 7-4 loss to Troy in Friday’s nightcap.

Fellow ECHS alum Megen Smith has yet to see action this year.
