The Effingham County girls and boys tennis teams both advanced to state by placing among the top four teams at the Region 2-AAAAAA Championships at Glynn Academy on March 29-30.

The Rebels girls placed second in the seven-team region, first defeating Bradwell Institute 3-0, then Richmond Hill 3-0 before losing to Statesboro 3-1 in the title match.

The ECHS boys were third, beating Brunswick 3-0, then losing to Glynn Academy 3-1 before winning in the consolation match to Richmond Hill 3-0.

The South Effingham girls and boys both lost in the first round and failed to make state.
